The learner will need to complete an individual theory and practical component once he/she has attended a facilitation session. He/she will need to complete a portfolio of evidence prior to attempting theory and practical component in order to prove progressive competency.
- General Safety and relation to OHS and Pressure Equipment Regulations Act.
- Relevance of MSDS and SANS 10147.
- Identify containers.
- Safety when using refrigerants.
- Discuss the 5 groups of refrigerant in detail, with special emphasis on usage of hydrocarbons and extraordinary handling procedure on both them and R410a, due to the excessive pressure relating to the boiling point.
- Recovering refrigerants from system.
